Please join us for a Pre-Comic Con Celebration during the opening reception of “Unearthed” on Saturday, July 9th, 2011

Crewest and Curator Luna George is proud to announce the opening of our newest installation “UNEARTHED”, which will exist on our walls as a larger than life visual comic book brought to life by some of our best graffiti and street urban artists. With a storyline written by author and artist Gustavo Alberto Garcia Vaca, the walls of the gallery will become an actual comic book live for all to see and immerse themselves into. In addition, Crewest will publish and release “UNEARTHED” the comic book featuring the artwork in the exhibit and storyline just in time for this year’s San Diego Comic Con.

UNEARTHED” features works by underground urban artists from around the world who have created visual elements in the form of never before seen characters who unearth from the underground in the year of 2012 on the day of the Apocalypse. Each of the exhibiting artists all share a strong ability in creating characters whether designed for street murals, album covers, published comic strips or actual comic books. We are very excited about this unique pairing of underground urban talent telling the tale of an Apocalyptic 2012 within the context of a gallery exhibition. Concept created by Luna George.

on the One: Unification Theory

First show of 2009!

Unification Theory: "on the One"
The Art Exhibition Experience

Opening Reception:
Thursday, January 8th, 2009 from 6pm - 10pm during the Downtown Artwalk.

Join Crewest as we enter the New Year and bring LA an entirely new art exhibition experience featuring Live Painting by “Unification Theory”. Core members include visual artist Overton Loyd (from legendary Funk band Parliament-Funkadelic), renown graffiti artist Man One and visual artist/writer Gustavo Alberto Garcia Vaca. The unification of these diverse creative minds along with the live music by Thrillharmonic Orchestra (Improvisational Funk Fusion) and cuts by DJ Phyz Ed build new visual and sonic structures. This innovative collaboration of live music, DJ mixing, and live painting is a new form of performance. Artwork created during past Unification Theory performances as well as pieces created that night will be available for purchase throughout the month.

Closing Night Party:
January 31st from 6pm to 9pm

Featuring live painting by Unification Theory and special guest painter Favianna Rodriguez and live music by Lonnie Marshall and DJ Phyz Ed spinning Hip Hop
jams.

Exhibit runs through January 31st.

Just Loungin...opening nite!

These are some of the pieces created during our March opening of Just Loungin' last Saturday night.

More of a series of events rather than an exhibition, there was live art by Unification Theory (Gustavo Alberto Garcia Vaca, Man One, Overton Loyd) and guests Vyal, Favianna Rodriguez and live printing by the Yo! What Happened to Peace? crew.

Andrew Hanson rocked some live sewing. Yeah we said live sewing! Never thought that could be cool, but check out his stuff.

Some of these pieces are still available at an incredible $50 each.

Join us Thursday, March 13 during the Downtown Artwalk and then again Saturday nite, on the 15th, for The Label Lab.

Hit us up for any info..
