WERC AT COLOR WALK MURAL FESTIVAL

Mexican border city, Ciudad Juarez, has had the unfortunate stigma of being one of North America's most violent cities.  Through the help of muralists and street artists, the city is trying to change that perception with a new campaign and mural festival called COLOR WALK.

The idea of COLOR WALK is to create street art pieces that will create pride and make positive statements of the community as well as attract tourism by bringing some renown national and international artists.

The first (of many murals to come) has been produced by one of our very own, WERC.
Check out his piece entitled "Rise Up":

Other participating artists include:

ISAIAS CROW ON A SOUTHWEST TOUR

ISAIAS CROW is currently on a self funded mystical mural making tour, mainly in New Mexico and Arizona.

Check out some of the unique walls he's already produced…

"Messenger of Light" (Albuquerque, NM)

"What is Within - is Without" (Albuquerque, NM)

If you live in the Southwest and would like to donate a wall, let us know and we can put you in touch with Isaias.

There is no fee for his art on this tour (donations always welcomed but not required) but in trade all he asks is for creative freedom.

Sounds like a deal to us!

Look out for more of ISAIAS CROW's artwork available soon once we revamp the Crewest.com site!

MEXICO CITY LOVES MARKA27

After a successful opening night for Marka27's "Neo Indigenous" solo show featuring

artist "Problak" in the front room of our gallery, Marka27 set off to visit his native land Mexico with his lovely
wife Liza Quiñonez.

We just got this report back from him and in his own words:

"The destination was Mexico DF (Distrito Federal). The trip was a total of five days and an
incredible experience filled with politics, culture, ancient history, street art, graffiti, designer vinyl, delicious food and good friends with good vibes!

It goes without saying words cannot describe how amazing the experience was. It was a humbling experience seeing the pyramids at Teotihuacan, meeting amazing local artists and designers.

Marka27 and Liza would like to thank the people of Mexico D.F specifically:
Oscar from "Vinyles Chiles" Victor Hugo Celaya from "Arto" Art Beyond Museums, and Gonzalo from "Mammut" for hooking up a wall for me to paint on the last day.
Thanks also to Libre, and Gato for the beers and good laughs!

We hope you enjoy the photos and highly recommend Mexico D.F for your next adventure."
- Marka27
